Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports

What Is PBIS?

PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports. It is a proactive approach that relies on research-based behavioral and instructional principles to create a positive school environment that supports academic achievement for all students. Since we adopted this approach in 2017 we have spent time defining our school expectations, mission, acknowledgment systems, and continuum of supports.

Mission

To create an atmosphere that guides, empowers and nurtures each child to reach his or her fullest potential- academically, emotionally, socially and physically, in order to assume responsibility as a productive member of their community.

Acknowledgments

Has your child demonstrated one of our five expectations at home?  We would love to acknowledge that in our daily announcements. Complete the shout out form linked below so we can recognize all the wonderful things happening with our students in our community. We also acknowledge our staff weekly and select a group of students as our super bees. These stellar students are honored for going above and beyond with the Five Be's at a monthly pizza party in our school cafeteria.

Continuum Of  Supports

We have also defined expected school behaviors and created a flowchart to allow all stuff to support students and learning.
