Mrs. Care
Welcome
About Me
This is my sixth year back at Marlborough Elementary! I taught kindergarten in the building during the 2010-2011 school year. Prior to coming back to the district, I taught six years of fourth grade at Lower Pottsgrove Elementary School. Prior to Pottsgrove I taught third and fifth grades in the Spring-Ford Area School District. I'm really excited to be teaching third grade again! Growing up I attended the Pottsgrove School District. I went on to attend Elon University in North Carolina where I earned my degree in Elementary Education. I have also completed my masters in Literacy at West Chester University. I live with my husband, our soon to be six-year-old daughter Caroline, and our dog Jerry. I like to cook and try new recipes. I enjoy exercising and being outdoors. I also like to read! I love chocolate and coffee! I can't wait to build a family within our classroom this year. I believe in an environment where everyone works together and feels respected. I look forward to supporting one another along the way to becoming the best learners we all can be!

Homework
Reading
Your child must read for 20 minutes each night. A reading response log will be given out each week. Students will have the opportunity to work on these during class and at home. They will write a small response that will be due on Fridays. A copy of the Reading Response Log will be handed out in the beginning of the school year.
Math
A math Home Link will be completed most nights. These assignments will check your child's understanding of the concepts being taught in class. Please have your child tear out the page from the Home Links book and place it in the "Return to School" side of their homework folder when they are finished. As the year goes on, you can also expect to see multiplication and division flashcards that the students will use to study their facts.
Spelling
Students will receive Fundations packets reinforcing the spelling patterns we are learning in the classroom. They will have 2 to 3 weeks to complete the packets before they are due to be turned in.
Science and Social Studies
Study guides or flashcards will be sent home for your child to study. You can expect these study aides one week before the test or quiz. Please study for a few minutes each night to help prepare your child!
