Proposed Materials for K-5 Science on Display now

As per District Policy, any new curriculum material is placed on public display for 30 days prior to adoption.  This year, a committee of teachers and administrators investigated several options and chose their preferred resource: Amplify.  The criteria for evaluating materials included the following:

• Aligned with NGSS/PA STEELS Standards (Newly adopted Science Curriculum by PDE)
• Prepared lessons/slides
• Hands-on experiences
• High Quality assessments
• Leveled readers/differentiation
• Integration with ELA, Math, Social Studies.

When evaluating these and other factors, Amplify will best meet the needs of our students as they experience a new set of standards focused on students DOING Science more than ever before. 

We thank the teachers who have worked so hard to seek, find, and choose the best materials for our UPSD students!
