Second Step
Second Step is a program rooted in social-emotional learning (SEL) that helps transform schools into supportive, successful learning environments uniquely equipped to help children thrive.
UPSD utilizes Second Step in grades K-5. The classroom-based social-emotional learning program includes lessons and reinforcement activities designed to increase children's school success and decrease behavioral problems.
More information on how Second Step is being incorporated into the Upper Perk curriculum can be found in this family presentation.
