About Mrs. Bartholomew
Hello! My name is Jamie Bartholomew. I am one of the 4th grade teachers at the 4-5 Center. Prior to becoming a UPSD teacher I taught in a variety of classrooms in neighboring districts. I have taught second grade, learning support and life skills support. I am so happy and excited to have found my school HOME.
I am a Dual Certified (Elementary Education & Special Education) Kutztown University graduate. As cliche as it sounds, growing up I always knew I wanted to be a teacher! When I was a fourth grade student, those dreams came true, as I had my first experience mentoring first graders in the morning before I went to homeroom. During my senior year of high school, I was given the opportunity to intern for the life skills class at my school - this opened up a whole new world and deepened my passion for teaching, and thus my desire to become dual certified educator.
Outside of school, among many other things, I am a mom, a wife, a sister, a daughter, an aunt, a niece, a cousin and a grand-daughter. I have 2 children (Geoffrey -10 and Tessa -4). They make my life full of fun and adventure! Get ready for many, MANY stories about them! I got married to Mr. Bartholomew in November 2019 and it was such a special day for our entire family. Spending time with my family is my favorite thing to do outside of school. Together we love to go on vacations, watch sports (GO EAGLES), celebrate anything and everything we can, and spend time outdoors.
I cannot wait to grow along side of my Fourth grade students❤ I love teaching!

Classroom Rules
COMING SOON...
Together, we will work to build a safe and positive learning environment for ALL students. We will do this through team building activities, class meetings, role-playing situations, and listening well to others. These will be taught, modeled, and practiced through our social-emotional learning program, Second Step.
Our classroom will also practice and follow our school-wide behavior expectations - PERK Pride. We will be positive, put forth our best effort, respect ourselves and others, and display kindness.

Parent Communication
Along with email and our weekly newsletter, this year Mrs. Diffenderfer and I will be using the Class Tag app to communicate with families. Class Tag can be used through the web or it is accessible through the application on your phone. This will allow you to receive alerts, announcements, and messages about your individual student or our classrooms.

Google Classroom
In an effort to keep education fluid for students, in the event that a quarantine or closure would occur, Upper Perkiomen students will be using Google Classroom. Google Classroom will be set up similar to last school year and will be shared with students within the first two weeks of school.
