Mrs. Conway - ART

Art at Marlborough and the 4 & 5 Center

At Marlborough Elementary School, we offer a broad spectrum of projects to foster individual expression, the development of traditional drawing and painting skills, and a basic understanding of art concepts. By exploring both two and three dimensional art, our students are better able to appreciate simple design principles. And all of our students - from kindergarten through fifth grade - work with a variety of media and explore the lives of famous artists, learning that artistic style and expression has no limits.

Art Shows

Student art work is displayed in the school hallways throughout the year. The District Arts Festival showcases selected works of art by UPSD elementary, middle, and high school students. At the end of each school year, one piece of art work from each grade level is chosen, framed, and displayed at Marlborough Elementary and the 4 & 5 Center.

About Me

I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Moore College of Art and Design and a Master's Degree in Art Education from Tyler School of Art. When time allows, I take art-related courses at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia. At home, I enjoy working on small-scale, abstract, mixed-media paintings.

Since I began teaching Art at Marlborough Elementary School, I've seen every imaginable combination of shapes, colors and lines, endless abstract creations on smocks and desk tops, hundreds of faces smeared with paint, and - best of all - lots of smiles from our Marlborough students. That's the finishing touch of any work of art.
